Despite clearly explaining a medical need related to a severe peanut allergy, I was denied pre-boarding on Southwest, mocked by a gate attendant, and ultimately forced to pay extra for safe seating—only to have my concerns dismissed by the airline.

Although my daughter was allowed to preboard without issue on our outbound Southwest Airlines flight after disclosing her peanut allergy, she was denied the same accommodation on our return flight and told to board with her assigned group. When I questioned this inconsistency, we were delayed at the gate for a supervisor, only to be told that pre-boarding would have been allowed. This resulting in confusion, stress, and a contradictory passenger experience.

My daughter was denied the ability to preboard and clean her seat on a Delta flight despite a life-threatening tree nut allergy, raising serious concerns about passenger safety and inconsistent airline policies.

After notifying Etihad at the gate and on board about my severe TN & PN allergy, I was told they had no ingredient information and was even advised to get off the plane, followed by a public announcement that singled me out. What followed was condescending treatment, peanuts and cashew nut curry served on board, four bananas for an 8-hour flight, and no response to my formal complaint.

I experienced a life-threatening allergic reaction on an Amtrak train and was repeatedly denied reasonable accommodations despite clearly communicating my medical needs. Conductors responded with hostility, refused to allow me to move cars or isolate, and failed to assist during an active medical emergency. This experience demonstrated a serious disregard for passenger safety, disability rights, and basic human care.

Despite repeatedly informing American Airlines staff of our infant’s nut allergy, nuts were still served around us, on our flight from Aruba to Philadelphia.

Travelers should be aware that the pizza roll served on Delta overseas flights may contain hazelnuts, despite this being disclosed only in small print as a possible ingredient. I had an allergic reaction mid-air after eating this item
