On my outbound flight crew showed me their policy which detailed that they ‘cannot stop the sale of nuts nor stop passengers from consuming them on their flight’. On the way home, I told a member of cabin crew who really cared and made an announcement for me and they didn’t serve nuts on the flight. So I don’t know whether the first two members of cabin crew following a policy or just made a personal decision. I would be careful if you were travelling with Vueling.

Vueling Nightmare with Nut Allergy!

3/25/2024. I had a horrible experience with Vueling flying to Barcelona. I informed the cabin crew on boarding about my nut allergy as there was no option to add it to my ticket, unlike on other airlines.

I told two members of cabin crew who seemed very unbothered and just asked me if I ‘had my thing’. I said, yes, I have my Epi- Pen, but it is for emergencies only. They both looked at me as if I was an alien and I was inconveniencing them. I continued to tell them that it was airborne and asked if they would do an announcement. They still did not seem bothered at all and there was no announcement made.

I had to sit with my jacket over my face the whole flight and was so anxious. I complained online but there’s no other direct way to make a complaint to them. I asked if they could put something in place for my return flight, they told me no and showed me their policy which detailed that they ‘cannot stop the sale of nuts nor stop passengers from consuming them on their flight’. This is so beyond ridiculous as every other airline I have flown has made accommodations to keep me safe. I researched on Twitter and found out that I am not the first person to have had such an experience with them.
