Our family took a trip to Israel this past December. We selected Swiss Air because they do not serve peanuts and this is his only allergen. On the day of travel, we pre-boarded the aircraft to thoroughly clean the area. The crew asked the folks around us not to consume peanuts and everyone was friendly and compliant. It even turned into a few meaningful conversations about food allergies and travel.
The crew was friendly and respectful towards my son and even apologized that they could not guarantee him that any of the meals served on board were nut free. I thanked them for caring but told them very clearly that even if they brought me a special meal, labeled nut free, that up in the air would not be the time for him to try a new food. I spoke to them about recalls, labeling mistakes and my feeling that it was just not worth it to eat airline food. They totally understood and felt better about not serving him anything. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would fly them again, without hesitation.
