We recently (November 2017) flew from Dulles to New York to Montego Bay – round trip with our family and a passenger with a severe airborne peanut allergy. While we had the option of flying on United and American on cheaper flights with less total fly time, we chose Jet Blue due to their policies in the air handling passengers with food allergies.
JetBlue lived up to its reputation and was amazing! The airline attendants treated us with respect, adhered to their policies and politely asked passengers to respect the buffer zone. We had zero issues in the air or with the basic requests to board early, wipe down the seat area and have a buffer zone around us where no nuts were served or consumed.
Thank you Jet Blue for allowing our family to fly and take a vacation. This is not something we feel comfortable doing with United and American and hope other airlines soon start taking notice of how easy it is to accommodate individuals with disabilities and food allergies.
