We flew from Charles de Gaulle (Paris) to Denver on Air France. My son has peanut and tree nut allergies, and I asked the gate agent if we could preboard so we could wipe down his seat area. He told me, “This is not our protocol. The plane is already clean,” and we were not allowed to board early.
Once onboard, however, the experience improved significantly. When I asked the flight attendants about the meal service, they went out of their way to help. They used tablets that listed allergens in each meal and snack, and we reviewed together what my son could safely eat. They served him first and checked on us multiple times throughout the flight.
It was a mixed experience—frustrating on the ground, but thoughtful and supportive in the air.
