4/6/2022 We had travelled on WestJet multiple times in last and they had always been amazing so without much research I booked with them on premium seats.
We got to the airport and advised the agents about my son’s nut allergy. The agent assured me that she would let the cabin crew know and also told me that they would make an announcement advising other passengers not to eat any nuts.
But to my surprise, when we boarded the plane we were advised that they would not be making the announcement. More concerning I was further informed that nuts would be on the menu as a snack choice. No if and or buts!!!!
At this point, I was nervous wreak trying to figure out if we should get off the plane. Meanwhile, the row behind us had overhead our conversation and told us that they would not consume any nuts. So I took the liberty to go up and have conversations with everyone in three rows to create our own buffer zone
This should not happen as this is not an optional condition. Crew should try to keep you safe not put you at further risk. ou should not have to negotiate for your medical safety in the air.
I will never again fly with WestJet.
