Shout out to Spirit Airlines flying from Atlantic City NJ to Myrtle Beach SC.
On Aug 19th. I was a bit concerned when after booking our tickets and speaking with a representative on the phone. The information I was given was so minimal, far as phone communication about nut allergies on the flight. It’s never comforting when you know someone is reading a blurb from a page to answer your question. But on the flip side, I was extremely happy with our experience.
I went up to the counter at the gate to advise I was traveling with a passenger that had a nut allergy. The information was transferred to the flight crew, which of course I also spoke to as soon as we walked on the plane. As everyone on the flight found their seats, the flight attendant came to us and asked if we would prefer the whole flight to be nut free!!!! The announcments were made and we were able to enjoy a stress free flight. I don’t think that flight crew will ever really know how much that meant to us.
On the way home we were able to pre board and wipe everything down, although we were not offered a full nut free flight, we still felt at ease knowing that the flight crew was aware and that the passengers around us understood. We were pleasantly surprised at our experience with SPIRIT AIRLINES as we usually fly JetBlue, this was our first time trying another airlines. My peanut allergic son is now 17 years old. We fly somewhere just about every year so we have been dealing with this for many years, it is getting easier as the years go by with so much awareness out there. This was one of our top experiences. Thank you!! #SPIRITAIRLINES.
