My 22 year old son - all nut allergy flying with my entire family including parents and sibling’s family on Delta to Italy. They were rude, embarrassing, and unaccommodating. .

Embarrassed for having a nut allergy on Delta!

We left this past Saturday 7/22/2023 from Detroit metro airport traveling to Italy.

Delta Airlines made a huge scene about my son’s nut allergy to the point it became embarrassing to him. They literally told both him and us, “Delta’s policy is they can serve nuts from 7 rows away and up.”

I had called them 3 moths prior to our trip and was told that they would not serve nuts. The flight attendant made a point of rudely saying, “We didn’t have to fly if we didn’t like it.” I shut her down. But we have never encountered this on Delta before. So just a warning from an all-nut allergy mom to all those out there. What they tell you on the phone may be different from what you encounter when you fly.

We are very upset that after speaking with Delta several times over a 3–4-month period and even the week prior to the trip that we had these issues. Please be aware that we have never had these issues flying before.
