I wanted to share a with you a positive experience my family had today traveling from JFK to the Bahamas on Delta flight #457. Our 6-year-old daughter has a severe peanut & tree nut allergy. I was able to request special assistance specifically for food allergies when booking our tickets online. The website stated that Delta would notify the flight crew as well as the ability to pre-board and wipe down.
When we got to the gate agent, we explained our situation. He was extremely understanding and said he would verify that the flight crew was aware of this allergy and he also stated that a special announcement would be made on board. Upon boarding the plane, I mentioned the allergy to flight attendants Raven and Sandra and they supportively responded that they were in fact notified and “were on top of it”. They did make the announce that on board staying that a passenger has a nut allergy and asked all passengers to refrain from opening Nut products on our flight.
When I took my daughter back to the bathroom, I overheard Raven and Sandra discussing that they were taking out all nut products from the service cart. They were extremely accommodating and understanding. I highly recommend flying Delta! They have shown great consideration and respect for individuals with Nut allergies!
