The flight attendant for Lufthansa told us that we're lucky they didn't refuse to board us. He said the crew had a conversation prior to us boarding and the captain said, "Do we want 'people like this' on our flight?"

Crew told us, “We were LUCKY they did not refuse to board us with my young son’s peanut allergy.

I recommend avoiding flying with Lufthansa. Just had a terrible experience flying with them 6/26/2021 from France to the US.

I both called and emailed the airline about my son’s peanut allergy and they assured me that peanuts would not be served (my 22 month old son is allergic).

When we arrived at the airport, I spoke to the person at the gate who they said that they would in fact be serving peanuts. So obviously I was very upset at the conflict of what I had been specifically told and the reality of what was happening and asked if they could NOT serve the nuts. They said I could talk to the flight attendants when we boarded.

The flight attendant that we spoke to was AWFUL. He told us they would sit us in the back away from other passengers but couldn’t make an announcement because it would “infringe on the civil liberties of the other passengers.”

He also went on to say that we’re lucky they didn’t refuse to board us. He said the crew had a conversation prior to us boarding and the captain said, “Do we want ‘people like this’ on our flight?” In the end,  he said they agreed that it was ok but still it makes me feel like… people like what? People with a child with a medical problem who are trying to protect them?

I feel like it’s ridiculous that they weren’t even willing to make an announcement. He said, “we can’t force people not to eat peanuts.” And I said, “well no but if you don’t tell people they can’t even choose to comply.”

I looked on their site after and it sounds like it’s company policy not to make announcements which is outrageous. Why?

Needless to say, this will be our last flight with them. Just wanted to share this info with you here in case you ever consider flying with them
