I called special assistance at American Airlines on January 31,2018. I inquired about merely being able to wipe down my son’s seat as he has a peanut allergy. I did not ask to pre-board or for an announcement.
I was told they may not even allow me to wipe down my son’s area. They tried to blame the TSA but I stated I was allowed to bring on a travel pack of Wet Ones. The rep also stated I should not make mention of the allergy at the gate. When I asked why she stated they only refuse to fly allergy people that think they’re royalty because they have a food allergy. The rep also stated it may be risky to fly them over an ocean because they wouldn’t be able to make an emergency landing.
