On May 4, 2026, I flew Air Canada and had a very positive experience traveling with a nut allergy.
A few weeks prior to the flight, I called ahead to inform the airline of my allergy. When I arrived at the airport, my boarding pass was printed with a “PRE” zone, which allowed me to preboard without any issues.
I was able to board early and wipe down my seating area. Once onboard, the flight attendants were attentive and created a buffer zone around us.
Even the snack service was thoughtfully handled, with a nut-free and gluten-free option provided.
Overall, the process felt smooth, coordinated, and reassuring from start to finish.
Next up, I’ll be boarding WestJet in about three weeks—looking forward to seeing how that experience compares.
