6/13/2025 Our 20-year-old daughter flew United Airlines nonstop from Dulles to Dublin for her summer study abroad program, her first international flight alone. She preboarded and introduced herself to the flight attendants in her section, bringing them a goodie bag of nut-free chocolates, mints, and snacks. She let them know she had several epinephrine auto-injectors, Benadryl, and her own safe food, and simply asked if they could keep an eye on her.
The crew was kind and appreciative, and even offered to make an announcement about the nut allergy onboard. She texted us afterward to say the announcement was made clearly during a quiet moment and that passengers nearby seemed receptive. It was a huge relief. The crew checked on her multiple times, no nuts were served, and everything went smoothly.
