I flew with American Airlines on 9/14/2022 for the first time. The flight was from Heathrow to New York.
I’m from the UK and on all UK airlines I have flown they make an announcement once everyone is boarded asking them to refrain from eating nuts for the flight due to my nut allergies. However, when I told the American Air airline staff they told me that it wasn’t their problem and moreover that they could not stop people from eating nuts. My entire travel party were shocked at the rudeness of the staff, the total dismissal of both myself and my mother’s concerns.
Honestly I could not settle the whole flight over how I was dismissed and treated. I do understand that they can’t wrestle nuts from people but just making people aware. American Air clearly prioritized people’s snack choice over a passenger’s wellbeing. Food allergy is not a choice its a real medical condition.
