On both flights the gate staff and flight crews were gracious and accommodating.
My daughter is allergic to peanut, tree nut, sunflower, sesame, chick pea.
We were allowed to preboard to wipe down our seating area.
The flight crews readily agreed to make an announcement regarding her nut allergy requesting passengers refrain from eating any items with nuts during flight.
On the NOLA bound flight the attendant came to ask me if it was ok to serve nuts in first class; we were in the rear of coach. I told him I’d prefer not, and he said “ok” and that was that. In addition he made the announcement after boarding, and again at the snack service.
We were traveling with a large group so we effectively created our own nut free “buffer zone.”
We couldn’t have been treated with more respect.
My last flight experience on Lufthansa in 2012 was horrendous, so I was very stressed heading into this trip, and so relieved by the way things went. We so often share stories of negative experiences it seems very important to share the good ones as well.
